In 2007 Highland Hospice and Napier University celebrated the graduation of students from The Highlands and Islands. The nurses work in a variety of roles in both general and specialist fields. Their experience covers acute care, hospice and community settings.
This is the final cohort of students to complete the Marie Curie Cancer and Palliative Care Diploma or Degree as this academic award is no longer available. In Autumn 2008, Palliative Care Modules will be delivered at Stirling University (Highland Campus). 'The Palliative Approach to Care' NUR212 commences in September 2008. This module can be taken as a stand alone module or as part of the diploma / degree programme. Places are limited so early registration is advisable.

This course is for health professionals seeking to consolidate knowledge and skills of Cognitive Therapy. The Foundation Skills Course offers five days of experiential learning led by an established Cognitive Therapist. The skills acquired in this course will enhance the cognitive aspects of participants’ clinical work, and may serve as a stepping-stone, when combined with supervised casework, into more advanced training.
The cost for the 5 day course is £450.

This study day explores the multi-professional input for the management of pain in the palliative care population. It will be of interest to health professionals working in in-patient units, nursing homes or community settings.

This 2 day experiential workshop will be of help to senior health professionals who want to build on their basic communication skills.
